Hiring FAQ

Common Questions About Working With Us

How often do crew members get paid? +
We pay weekly via direct deposit every Friday. Overtime is calculated accurately and paid in full every pay period.
Where do crews report in the morning? +
Our central dispatch and yard is located at 2431 Catalina Dr, Sacramento, CA 95864. Field crews report here to inspect machinery, hook up trailers, and head out to scheduled jobsites across Sacramento, Folsom, Roseville, and Elk Grove.
How do you handle hot summer weather? +
Sacramento summers get hot, and asphalt laydown temperatures exceed 275°F. To protect our teams, we shift our working hours to early morning starts (often 5:00 AM – 6:00 AM) so paving and sealcoating wrap up before peak afternoon heat. We supply iced hydration, electrolyte supplements, and shade canopies on all active jobs.
Do I need my own tools or safety gear? +
We supply all required Cal/OSHA safety gear (Class 3 high-vis vests, hearing protection, gloves, eye protection) and heavy-duty pavement lutes, rakes, tampers, and blowers. You only need steel-toe paving work boots and durable work attire.
Is there work during the winter months? +
Yes! While rainy weeks pause asphalt pouring, we keep our core crew employed through winter maintenance, equipment overhauls, drainage installation, cold-patch emergency road repair, and prep for the heavy spring paving surge.
